Town and Country Fair
Date: 25/10/09 Duration: 3.57 Minutes
Southport’s brand new Town and Country Fair burst into being last year as crowds were given an insight into Lancashire country life.
The fair took place at Stanley Sports College on Fleetwood Road over the bank holiday weekend in August and followed hot on the heels of the Southport Plant, Craft and Food Fair, which was brought to the town by the same organizers in the April
There was a wide verity of demonstrations to entertain the crowd such as dog obedience and agility demonstrations, sheep and duck herding displays, horse gymnastics, ferret racing, donkey rides, steam engines and cookery demonstrations.
Event coordinator Angela Rimmer, said: “This is actually something new for us.
“The Southport Plant, Food and Craft earlier in the year were our first event and went very well, so we are looking forward to seeing if we can do even better at this new show.”
There were few at the show who could say they did not deliver.!
