Royal Wedding at Lancaster Priory
To mark the marriage of the future Sovereign and Duke of Lancaster, Lancaster Priory showed the Royal Wedding on a big screen in the church's nave, and invited the people of Lancaster to put on their wedding best to take part in the celebrations.
On special occasions such as The Queen's birthday, the Priory is one of the very few places in England which is commanded to fly the Royal Banner of HM The Queen, Duke of Lancaster, from the flagpole on its tower. So it was entirely appropriate that on this special royal occasion this famous banner with its three lions was proudly flown above the city.
Lancashire One's Jonny Nelson and birthday girl Emma Robinson joined the congregation to watch the service.
