Fylde's got talent

is back!

FYLDES GOT TALENT IS BACK

The annual Fylde’s Got Talent competition is upon us and performers from the FY postcode area are being sought to showcase their talents. The lucky winner(s) will perform on the same stage as the headline act for the Sunday night of The Lytham Proms Festival Weekend 2012.

The competition, now in its fourth year has got bigger and better and the new organisers, Cuffe & Taylor are hoping that this year will be no exception. As a result of winning last year’s competition Lucy Ella has gone from strength to strength, performing to 5000 people at the Lytham Proms Festival Weekend 2011, headlined by Boyzone.

A spokesperson for the new organisers Cuffe & Taylor said “We were approached by the previous organisers to see if we wanted to run the competition otherwise it was not going to run in 2012. We ran something similar last year called Fylde’s Got the Rock Factor, and the winning band Next Stop Atlanta won the opportunity to perform as the warm-up act for Status Quo.

Last year's winners: Next Stop Atlanta caught up with us back stage.

We are doing something different on the Friday night this year and this negates the need for a warm up act, which unfortunately meant we could not run Fyldes got the Rock Factor in 2012, so we were more than happy to pick up the gauntlet of this well established talent competition to showcase the brilliant local talent and give the winner the opportunity to perform on the Sunday night at Lytham Proms Festival Weekend 2012.

The competition is looking for all types of performers - singers, dancers, musicians, magicians and comedians - all encouraged to take part whether soloists, duos, bands or groups.

MORE FYLDES GOT TALENT IS BACK So if you think you have what it takes then go online to apply.

Auditions will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish Centre, St Annes on Saturday 10th March starting at 10:00(audition time slots will only be given to those who apply online beforehand). Space will be restricted so participants are encouraged to stick to their audition slot times.

The Grand Final will be held at Lowther Pavilion, Lytham, on Sunday 22nd April, tickets priced at £10.00 plus booking fee.

All money raised from the competition will be donated to the Donna’s Dream House Charity, a locally based trust providing free holiday experiences for children and teenagers with life-threatening illnesses and their families, and for recently bereaved siblings and their families.

A spokesperson for Cuffe & Taylor said “We couldn’t think of a more deserving charity, especially given the news of the fire recently. We know that a fire would not keep a charity like that from bouncing back, but we wanted to show our support and help them restore everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
