Guild Easter Egg Rolling
Preston - Preston
In Preston's Avenham Park!
The sun did not have it's hat on and It did not come out to play (or shine, dance, sing, hop or skip), but the good people of Preston ventured out into the drizzle to once again honour a centuries old tradition - Easter egg rolling!
Sponsored by Preston's Saint Georges Shopping Centre, the Avenham and Miller parks held host to an event holding extra significance this year, thanks to 2012 Guild celebrations.
Lots of stalls, live music, competitions and a giant chicken called Plucky protected the rainy day from turning soggy, and the people of Preston were once again out in force.
The Egg Rolling once again showcased the traditional bonnet making competition and parade, this year sponsored by Hobby Craft!
Offering a little something different this year were the vibrant Batala Brazilian Percussion Band.
Jonny and Josh told us they had no wellies, umbrellas or adequate waterproof clothing, so we thought this was the perfect day for them to learn a life lesson in preparation.
