The festival took place over the weekend of Saturday the 31st of July and Sunday the 1st August on Marine Road West, in sight of the iconic Eric Morecambe statue.
The competition, conceived to celebrate the town’s man made beach, pulled in teams from all over the area who brought buckets, spades and stencils to create some stunning structures including castles, turtles, whales, cars and every ones favourite – ice cream
Teams comprised of up to four members which were split into two categories, the families and under 12's, and the open category. The winners of the competition won a cash prize of £75 with runners up also receiving prizes.
