Riversway Festival 2012
Date: 31/07/12
It was all happening down at the Docks in Preston in July, when the annual Riversway Festival returned to deliver another fantastic maritime extravaganza to the people of Lancashire.

Narrow boats, dragon boats, navy vessels and life boats provided people with plenty to look at out on the water, during an wonderfully sunny weekend. Whilst full bars, live music, comedy, art, theatre, classic steam trains and firework displays were on hand to keep families of all sizes entertained on dry land.

Amongst the attractions was the 'Life Boat', one of the many theatre installments at the festival letting the public interact and take part.

Very apt for a Jubilee as well as a Guild year and Olympics, we found this brightly decorated and patriotic vessel in amongst the selection of narrow boats taking part in the weekend.

When the sun went down, the fun only continued, with glowing boats and explosive fireworks lighting up the docks, well into the small hours.
