Best of 2012 - Vintage Guild Weekend
Preston's Grade 2 listed Avenham Park played backdrop to the Guild Vintage Weekend on the 1st and 2nd of September, marking the begining of Guild Week.
Curated by world renowned fashion designers Wayne and Gerardine Hemmingway (MBEs respectively), the picturesque Avenham was transformed into a playground of boutiques, tents, stages and stalls, offering all things vintage.
As part of the festivities, people could opt to purchase tickets to the 'Spirit of 42 Ball', a 1940s inspired evening of food, drink, dance and entertainment, to pay homage to the 1942 Guild, that was noteably cancelled because of the war.
As the sun shone the crowds swelled, with outfits on show, makeovers on offer, arts, crafts, workshops and music, the Vintage festival gave the people of Preston and opening weekend that few will forget.
